In Part 1 of our tutorial, we setup Hikashop to calculate the 10% GST component. In this second tutorial, we will apply the GST tax rate from the first tutorial so that it becomes the default tax rate for everything we sell.
Part 3 is the final step to make sure your GST tax component gets applied to all of your products. In this tutorial we will need to change the Main Tax Zone in the configuration tab to apply Australia as the default tax zone country.
This section allows you to enter your shop address, weights and search engine settings.
Weights in Hikashop is broken down into two parts, and represented by symbols. The first part is the dimensions, which is represented in metres, yards feet etc. The second part is represented by weights, such as kg, g, oz and so on. This section of the tutorial will help you to configure the weight settings, which will be used to calculate your shipping cost.
The purpose of Search Engine Optimisation, or SEO, is to make your website easy to find for users and for search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing. Although search engines are getting more sophiscated, they cannot preceive a website like a human being, and they therefore still require help to figure out what your website is about. This part of the tutorial will help you to setup your website so that it gets indexed by the major search engines such as Google, Yahoo and MSN.
